Manchester United Casemiro To Miss Manchester United Trip To Sheffield

Casemiro, a midfielder for Manchester United, will miss their Premier League match against Sheffield United on Saturday due to an injury sustained while serving his country, the club announced on Thursday.

As the team reassembled after the international break, Casemiro didn’t participate in training on Thursday.

“(Casemiro) remained in Brazil, on the club’s advice, to recover as swiftly as possible from a small issue picked up while playing for his country,” United said

He took part in both of Brazil’s World Cup qualifying matches, starting for 79 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Venezuela at home before playing the entire 2-0 loss to Uruguay.

The club said that the 31-year-old is anticipated to return to Carrington early the following week to begin training.

However, Casemiro will also be absent from Tuesday’s Champions League match at home against Copenhagen after receiving a red card in their 3-2 loss to Galatasaray on October 3.
