Kenya Kenya Police gun down Ulinzi Stars, Homeboyz demolish Sofapaka

Kenya Police registered a convincing 2-0 victory against Ulinzi Stars in an FKF Premier League fixture at Police Sacco Stadium on Friday.

The first half concluded without any goals however, the deadlock was broken early in the second half when Francis Kahata scored, putting the hosts in the lead. The momentum continued for the home team as Abud Omar doubled the lead with a free-kick. This victory allowed Kenya Police to claim the first derby bragging rights of the season.

Meanwhile, at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz secured a 5-0 victory against struggling Sofapaka. Four goals came in the first half and one in the second was enough to seal the victory. The floodgate of goals was opened by Stephen Opuku in the 30th minute. Brian Eshihanda scored a brace, his first coming in the 41st minute and another in the 43rd while Ambrose Sifuna rounded off the scoring at the stroke of the half-time break.

The second half saw a 57th-minute strike from Christopher Mbehelo find the back of the net to solidify Homeboyz’s victory. At Ruaraka grounds, Ian Omondi gave FC Talanta a lead in the 3rd minute against Muhoroni Youth the first half ended 1-0. Another goal was witnessed in added time this time Tanui Alfred hit the mark.

The top-flight league will continue on Saturday before a two-week international break to give way for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Part of the matches lined up include champions Gor Mahia taking on Murang’a Seal FC, AFC Leopards coming up against table leaders Posta Rangers, and Tusker against Nairobi City.
