Burkina Faso World Cup U17

The young Stallions of Burkina Faso have lost heavily to France in their first FIFA U-17 World Cup game on Sunday morning at Jakarta International Stadium, in Indonesia (0-3).

Despite a good first half, the Stallions fell against the Bleuets after the break.

The resistance against the impressive collective of the French lasted only four minutes in the second half. First, Mathis Lambourde opened the scoring for France. This inspired two more penalty goals conceded in the final ten minutes of the match.

While Morocco, Mali and Senegal won their first match at this U-17 World Cup, Burkina Faso has just lost theirs. The West African country is therefore the only nation of the four qualifiers on the continent to have missed its entry into the tournament.

Burkina Faso U17 still has time to catch up. The team is scheduled to play its second match against the United States on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, before the last of Group E against South Korea, four days later.
