Women Football AWCON 2024 Qualifiers: Ajibade Reveals Reason For Super Falcons Victory

Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade has said the experienced players in the team complement the young players to bring out the best in the team.

Ajibade stated this in her post-match reaction shortly after the Super Falcons crushed Cape Verde girls 5-0 in the first leg of their 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations final round qualifying fixture in Abuja on Thursday.

Ajibade, who plays for Spanish Liga F side, Atletico Madrid hailed the impact of some key players whose experiences were pivotal in the demolition of Cape Verde.

According to her; “It is always useful to have youthful and experienced players in the team because most times when you have so much youthful players without experience, the experienced players beat youthfulness because it actually helps.

“You could see the impact of Osinachi Ohale in the defense line, very experienced player because it’s not easy like that.

“She has the wealth of experience to help the young ones.”

The nine-time African champions were easily ahead in the match thanks to goals from Uchenna Kanu (two in the first half) and substitute Esther Okoronkwo (two in the second half).

This virtually guaranteed them a spot in the finals, which will take place in Morocco in the summer of the following year.

On Tuesday, December 5, both teams will play in the second leg in Praia, the capital of Cape Verde.
