CAF Enyimba, Others Receives Participation Fees From CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,00) to Nigeria Premier Football League Clubs, Remo Stars, Enyimba International, and Bendel Insurance as a participation fee for their participation in this year’s CAF clubs competitions.

According to CAF, each team that did not advance to the group stages will receive $50,000.

2022–2023 Third-placed Rivers United and Federation Cup winners Bendel Insurance competed in the CAF Confederation Cup, while Nigeria Premier Football League winners Enyimba and runners-up Remo Stars participated in the CAF Champions League.

Enyimba lost to Al-Ahly Benghazi 4-3 on aggregate in the first preliminary round, and Remo Stars lost to Ghanian Champions Medeama 3-2 on penalties.

Bendel Insurance fought valiantly to advance to the second preliminary round, but in the end, they were defeated 3-2 on aggregate by past winners RS Berkane.

The only team to get past the CAF Confederation Cup group stage was Rivers United.
