CAF Champions League Yanga SC ready for difficult game against Al Ahly – Gamondi

Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Miguel Gamondi believes his players have done enough to get victory when they take on African champions Al Ahly in their Group fixture of the CAF Champions League at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday.

The Tanzanian champions kicked off their group stage campaign with a 3-0 loss away to Group D leaders CR Belouizdad. Despite the opening defeat, Gamondi has declared Yanga’s readiness to tackle mighty Ahly despite acknowledging the sizeable threat they pose in Dar es Salaam.

“We’re set to face a strong and big opponent in Al Ahly. We are ready for this difficult game,” said the Argentine coach as quoted by CAFOnline, adding: “We lost to Belouizdad because of stress but we’ve overcome our biggest issue with players now having enough rest.”

Gamondi added while revisiting the defeat to Belouizdad: “This is not the result we anticipated, and as such we need to keep our heads up because there are several matches to play in the group stage and our target is to do well.”
