The lead was extended by Chidiebere Nnachi two minutes before the hour.
In stoppage time, Augustine Njoku cut the Abia Warriors’ deficit in half.
Remo Stars defeated Kwara United 2-0 to take back the top spot in Ikenne.

At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, former champions Plateau United defeated Niger Tornadoes 3-2 to earn their first away victory of the season.
