The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon beat the Scorpions of Gambia in a very close match, destroying the qualification hopes of Ivory Coast and Ghana.

Cameroon beats Gambia, taking second place in Group C, after Senegal.

They are therefore qualified for the round of 16 of the competition.

This match was also closely followed by Ivorian supporters since a draw between the two teams would allow the Elephants to qualify first in the ranking. Eyes were therefore riveted on this attractive meeting between two teams who were expected to take three points.

In the other match, it was the place of first in the group which was played out between Senegal and Guinea. All Aliou Cissé’s men needed was a draw to secure first place.

Guinea, already qualified at kick-off, finally finished in 3rd place in this group on goal difference because this 2-0 defeat allowed Cameroon to take the advantage.
