Moses Simon skipped the sliding of an Angola player before he put a low cross to Lookman who tapped in the ball.

A thrilling second half ensued, with Zini unfortunate not to tie the score in the 59th minute when the replacement’s shot struck the upright with Nwabali well beaten. In the sixty-third minute, the Super Eagles were given a free-kick in a good position, and Antonio brilliantly denied Zaidu Sanusi at the near post.

When the SSC Napoli player scored in the 75th minute, Osimhen—who was desperate for goals that evening—thought he had put an end to the Super Eagles’ chances of winning. Even though the goal was called back for offside, Nigeria managed to hang onto their slim lead and win 1-0 in the end.
