CAF Champions League CCL: Every point is crucial for Al Ahly as they face CR Belouizdad – Kohler

Al Ahly coach Kohler has stressed the importance of gaining points as they prepare to face CR Belouizdad of Algeria in their group fixture of the CAF Champions League at the 5 July 1962 Olympic Stadium in Algiers on Friday.

The matchday five fixtures for the competition will resume next weekend, however due to Ahly’s FIFA Club World Cup schedule, they will play their matchday four on Friday against the Belouizdad.

“Our team has players with great experience and who are good at dealing with pressure. I am confident in their ability to get a victory away from him, especially since the clubs in the group have become close in the rankings. At this stage, all points are crucial, and it is important for us not to drop any,” said Kohler.

Al Ahly defender Rami Rabia said: “Our goal is to get the three points. We strive to win every match. We do not think about any other factors but the game itself. We have the experience of this competition. There is no such thing as overconfidence. The technical staff and players deal with the match very seriously to achieve their goals and make the fans happy.”

The defending champions are tied on fice points with Tanzania’s Young Africans (Yanga SC), who have played a game extra, while hosts of the fixture, Belouizdad will be looking at toppling the Egyptian giants, with just a point separating them from Ahly and Yanga.
