The Delta Queens FC officials’ involvement in a car accident on Tuesday has shocked the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL).

On their way to their Matchday 10 matchup against Remo Stars Ladies in Ikenne, the accident happened close to Ijebu Ode.

With a statement, NWFL expressed their sincere sympathies and promised to stand by the impacted authorities.

“On behalf of the entire NWFL, we offer our deepest condolences to the affected individuals, their families, Delta Queens FC, and the Delta State government.

“We are incredibly thankful there were no fatalities, but our thoughts are with those injured, and we sincerely wish them a full and speedy recovery.

“We offer our unwavering support as they navigate through this challenging situation.

“Ms. Nkechi Obi’s board urges everyone to keep those affected in their thoughts and prayers as they heal.
