Cameroon Claude Le Roy set to become new Cameroon head coach

Claude Le Roy Cameroon

Experienced French coach Claude Le Roy is expected to be the next Cameroon national team head coach following Rigobert Song’s departure after the end of his contract.

The Indomitable Lions failed to play a single game in March as they are yet to have a new coach after Rigobert Song’s exit.

According to French journalist and African football specialist Frank Simon, Claude Le Roy agreed terms to take the coaching role in Cameroon.

He is expected to be assisted by two-times AFCON winner Patrick Mboma and current Rayon Sports manager Julien Mette.

Claude Le Roy who is 76 has not coached a team since 2021 and his departure from Togo but has the needed experience to take over the Indomitable Lions again after winning them the 1988 AFCON in Morocco. It will be the third time he is coaching Cameroon after 1990.

This would have been a breaking new but not that it is just an April fool…
