Serie A AS Roma Confirms Ndicka Discharged From Hospital

The Serie A club said on Monday that AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka, who fell on the pitch during their encounter at Udinese on Sunday, has been discharged from the hospital and will have more testing done in Rome.

The Ivory Coast footballer, 24, who was born in Paris, was taken off the pitch on a stretcher in the eighteenth minute after tumbling backward onto the pitch.

The match was eventually called off at 1-1. Ndicka was rubbing his chest with his right hand when the medical team hurried to him. He was aware but clearly in pain.

He was later described as being in “good spirits” by Roma.

First and second-level cardiological tests were administered that were negative for cardiac pathologies,” Roma said in their latest statement.

“In light of the last tests undergone this morning, the medical situation is compatible with a thoracic trauma with minimal left pneumothorax.”

Roma expressed gratitude to the hospital workers, Udine stadium supporters, and the referee.

In those frantic minutes of apprehension, we all together demonstrated sports values and placed protecting life in first place,” Roma added.
