Africa Cricket : Ugandan team flagged off to Dubai

National men’s senior cricket side will be away from home for the next 10 days for a friendly tour. Led by skipper Davis Karashani, they were flagged off by National Council of Sports general secretary Jasper Aligawesa to United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Lugogo on Thursday.

They will five 50-over games and two T20 matches with the hosts at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village and the famous Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

All under the effort of Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), the main essence of the tour is to help batsmen improve on the willows while in front of the stumps.

“That’s the key area,” batsman Banjamin Musoke told Kawowo Sports. “We are looking for the right batting joints in the order,” Karashani added.

The contingent will be led by UCA general secretary Jackson Kavuma. They will return home on January 28.

TEAM TO UAE:

 Batsmen: Benjamin Musoke, Roger Mukasa, Khalid Moothosmany, Mitch Horrocks, Shaaiq Hussain Choundry, Lawrence Ssematimba, Arthur Kyobe.

All rounders: Davis Karashani, Deusdedits Muhumuza, Jonathan Ssebanja.

Bowlers: Henry Senyondo, Brian Masaba, Mohammed Shaffique, Dennis Taby.

 Coaches: Martin Suji and Steve Tikolo
