Nigeria Egbo Misses Chance To Win Albanian Cup Title For Tirana

Nigerian coach Ndubuisi Egbo missed the opportunity to win a double for KF Tirana following their 2-0 to Tueta Durres in the Albanian Cup final.

Egbo failed to guide his team to a determined Tueta Durres side who scored in each half.

Having guided Tirana to win the Albanian League title this season, Egbo was hoping to add another silverware to the club.

Tirana have won the Albanian Cup for a record 16 times and were hoping to make it 17 after they last won it in 2017.

It is now back-to-back final defeat for KFTirana who also lost in the 2019 edition.

The last time they were crowned champions of the Albanian Cup was in 2017 and are the most successful with 16 titles.

Africa Top Sports monitored the game as Rustem Hoxha gave Tueta Durres the lead just two minutes of play before Lorenco Vila doubled the score in the 78th minute.

It was Tueta Durres’ fourth Cup win and their first after 15 years.

However, the loss was a back-to- back one for Egbo who had led his team to their 25th Albanian League title last month.

He will now face the biggest stage when Tirana plays in the UEFA Champions League next season as the first Nigerian coach to do so.
