Africa Ghana: 24 local-based U20 players leave for Europe tour

At the last African Championships in South Africa, the Black Satellites of Ghana the then defending champions failed to progress to the group stage. They Satellites however, this time are taking part in the African Youth Champions and are preparing for the tournament

The Black satellites will train at Novara in Italy for five days before spending another ten days in Catalunya, Spain.

Ghana Under-20 squad:

Goalkeepers: Felix Annan (Asante Kotoko), Micheal Sai (Berekum Chelsea) Eric Ofori-Antwi (Amidaus)

Defenders : Jeremiah Arkorful ( Tema Youth) Richmond Nketiah (Medeama) Lawrence Lartey (AshantiGold) Ahmed Adams (Berekum Chelsea) Kofi Koomson (Amidaus) Joseph Attamah Larweh (Tema Youth), Prince bell Addico

Midfielders: Seidu Salifu and Emmanuel Gyamfi (Wa All Stars) Moses Odjer and Derrick Mensah (Tema Youth) Micheal Anaba (Asante Kotoko), Kwame Boahene and Kennedy Ashia (Liberty) Jacob Appau (Medeama), Clifford Aboagye

Strikers: Francis Narh (Tema Youth) Ebenezer Assifuah (Liberty) Ollenu Ashittey (Heart of Oak), Ebenezer Ofori (New Edubiase), Baba Mensah

Coach Sellas Tetteh of the under – 20 has prepared a 24 – man squad for the pre-African Youth Championship and have test matches against youth team of AC Milan and Barcelona to get to know how ready they are for the battle ahead.

The squads will however be cut down to 21 for the tournament in Algeria before they face Egypt in their opening Group A tournament in March.
