Rivers United Supporters Club (RUFSC) have threatened to disrupt next sesson Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games and all football competitions in Nigeria.
Rivers United Supporters Club (RUFSC) issued a communique on Tuesday signed by it’s chairman Comr. Franklin Owhor who called for the resignation of the League Management Company (LMC) chairman Shehu Dikko.
The supporters demanded that justice, equity and fairness be done on the just concluded 2019/2020 season.

They faulted the Head-To-Head system the LMC used to resolve the final standing of the league that saw Rivers United finished third position instead of second.
RUFSC demanded also that Plateau United and Rivers United should represent Nigeria in next season CAF Champions League while Enyimba and Kano Pillars play in the Confederation Cup.
The communique as received by Africa Top Sports reads as follows;
“Based on the recent development and the need to put Nigerian Professional Football League NPFL, in a state of disrepute by the league management company LMC.
“We posit and vehemently insist that fairness , justice and equity be done on the just suspended 2019/2020 NPFL Football League competition and a league table showing the standing of all the clubs reflecting the actual performance base on PPG system as agreed by all the clubs be upheld.
Hence, the RIVERS UNITED FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS CLUB, insist on the following.
1. Messr SHEHU DIKKO should explain where in the world that Head-to- Head is used to resolve a tie in football league instead of GOAL DIFFERENCE and his reason for jettisoning the rules of the game.
2. The present LMC Board has lost the trust and confidence of the nation soccer followers by discrediting and bringing confusion into the Nigerian Football League system.
“No wonder our football league has failed to develop and improve in all ramifications.
3. Messr SHEHU DIKKO should immediately resign as the Chairman of the League Management Company LMC, for distorting the PPG TABLE STANDING in favour of his surrogate and preferred clubside against the backdrop of the glaring performance of all the clubs.
4. We also insist that the NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION ( NFF ) must uphold/ submit to CAF,
the following as Nigeria representative for 2020/2021 CAF CLUB Competition
CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
i. PLATEAU UNITED
ii. RIVERS UNITED
CONFEDERATION CUP.
i. ENYIMBA FC
ii. KANO PILLARS
“So to ensure that the enemies and detractors of Nigerian Football are put to shame, subsequently ensure the removal of SHEHU DIKKO as Chairman of LMC , were he fails to resign forthwith.
“That we stand for fairness, justice and truth in the best interest of development of the game, and the Federal Ministry of Sports and NFF should investigate / probe Messr SHEHU DIKKO especially the immediate/ remote cause of his action to distort and criminally manipulate the PPG league table to favour a certain clubside.
“In conclusion , if justice is not properly served and RIVERS UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB not giving it true second place position on the PPG TABLE.
We shall ensure that the NPFL games and football competition is totally distrupted and put on hold.
“However, we have explicit confidence in the Hon. Minister of Sports and the board of NFF to ensure that the right thing is done in the best interest of our football league.
