Former Wadi Degla coach Takis Gonias has discussed his return to Egyptian Premier League as he confessed to have been in contact with some Zamalek representatives.

Takis Gonias was sacked at the head of Wadi Degla back to February due to poor results. As the Greek manager won just four of the 17 games he coached.

However, seven monts later, he could back to the Egyptian top-flight. According to KingFut, the 48-year-old technician does not rule out a return to Egypt. And following Patrice Carteron’s departure, he would like to take on Zamalek’s coaching post which is vacant.

“I’ve been in contact with some Zamalek representatives but nothing official yet. For me official negotiations mean being in direct contact with the chairman and not agents,” Gonias told Al-Nahar TV Channel.

He who likes possession football, believes Zamalek players will blossom under his style of play.

“I’m currently in Greece and not in Egypt but I hope to return as soon as possible as I want to coach there.

“Zamalek have many special players, its one of the biggest in Africa and their players can apply my style of play,” he concluded.
