Nigerian Players abroad We Did A Good Job, But The Point Is Not Enough-Emery

Samuel Chukwueze manager Unai Emery is livid the team had to share the spoils against newly promoted Cadiz following a 0-0 draw in Sunday La Liga game.

Chukwueze was left out of the starting XI by Emery as the Yellow Submarines played 0-0 draw against Cadiz.

The winger later came in as a substitute in the 62nd minute for Takefusa Kubo but couldn’t help his team to win.

Emery after expressed satisfaction over the performance of his team but believed they could have ran away with a win.

Speaking in his post-match interview, the former Arsenal manager said his side were solid against a Cadiz side that stunned Real Madrid last week.

We did a good job, but the point is not enough.

“We knew how to control the game in terms of possession, and long spells of it and we didn’t rush. 

“In defence we were solid and we didn’t concede chances.”  

“We have improved in many apects and I see things that I like.

“We wanted to win.

” I think the point is unsatisfactory, but we have to value it positively because of the work we’ve put in and the opponent we had in front of us. 

“Perhaps we lacked some effectiveness to get the win.”

The result left Villarreal in fourth place with 13 points from seven games.

Their next action will be the Europa League Matchday 2 game on Thursday away against FK Qarabag.

Then on Monday, November 2, they will host Real Valladolid at the Estadio de Ceramica.
