Egypt head coach Hossam El-Badry said his men were a bit tired especially physically in the second half of their narrow win over Togo on Saturday in the third match day of the 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifiers.

Hawks of Togo managed to contain the pharaohs in the first half of their tie on Saturday.

However, Claude Leroy’s men conceded the unique goal at the 53rd minute as El-Wensh’s header secured victory for Egypt.

“It’s an important win that comes after a very difficult period in terms of preparation before the game,” El-Badry told BeIN Sports, per KingFut.

“Salah sent us a message before the game saying he is confident we will beat Togo, and thankfully we did today. I dedicate this win to all Egyptian fans and Salah,” the 60-year-old added.

In addition, the return leg takes place on Tuesday, November 17 at 4pm in Lomé.
