Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said the age of Mo Salah could be a a salient point in his move to FC Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Salah have recently said that his future is in the hands of Liverpool. So far, this declaration of the pharaoh enabled those of Liverpool fans and even that of Jürgen Klopp who said he is ‘in a good moment at Liverpool’.

Despite the fact that he still has two years left in his contract with the Reds, he is not in shortage of courtiers all over Europe with La Liga duo Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in the frontline.

However, the deal may not happen according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher as he considers Mo Salah’s age (28).

“I think the situation now – financially and his age – means clubs don’t have that kind of money for him,” Carragher told The Mirror.

“You are talking in excess of £100million and I think Real Madrid and Barcelona would be looking at [Kylian] Mbappe or [Erling] Haaland or even [Sadio] Mane ahead of Salah now because of his age.

“Those two clubs are not flush with money and his contract still has some time to run at Liverpool.

“So I’m not fearful as a Liverpool fan that he is going to leave any time soon,” he added

In addition, Mo Salah scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 16 games with Liverpool this season before this afternoon’s clash against Manchester United.
