African players abroad Mostafa Mohamed Finally To Join Galatasaray As Zamalek Confirm

Contrary to what has been reported early, Zamalek’s official spokesperson Essam Salem has confirmed that Mostafa Mohamed will join Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan.

Mohamed has been heavily in link with a move away from Zamalek for a while now. As several European sides have expressed their interest in the forward.

The 23-year-old seemed close to joining Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Étienne before talks broke down. Decicion following club president Roland Romeyer’s comments against Zamalek.

Saint-Étienne were reportedly in negotiations to complete Mostafa Mohamed’s move to Les Verts after sending a $5m offer to Zamalek for his services.

Zamalek later halted negotiations. And they threatened to take legal action against Romeyer. The Whites also stated that ‘there is no way’ to continue negotiations with the French club despite their continued attempts to sign him.

Galatasaray had reportedly re-opened talks Zamalek as they looked to capitalize on his failed transfer to Saint-Étienne.

The Istanbul giants have also intensified their pursuit of Mohamed, with Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim said to be keen on bringing the Egyptian to Turkey.

Recent reports also confirmed that Mohamed is set to arrive in Turkey on Thursday to finalise his transfer to Galatasaray.

Zamalek’s spokesperson Essam Salem has now confirmed these reports. And he revealed that Mohamed is now set to join Galatasaray in the current transfer window.

Zamalek were settled on Saint-Etienne’s offer. But the statements of their president caused the negotiations to be halted completely, whatever the circumstances.” Salem told ON Time Sports.

Mostafa Mohamed’s transfer saga will be concluded today. And he will join Galatasaray on a one-and-a-half-year loan with an option to buy.

“If they decide to buy him permanently, they will have to pay a fee of $4m.

“Mohamed is convinced that he will get what he wants with Galatasaray. Because they are a strong team domestically and in Europe as well.” He added.

It’s worth noting that Mohamed could come in as a replacement for Senegal’s Mbaye Diagne. The latter who is reportedly set to complete a move to West Brom on loan.

Diagne had bagged nine goals in 15 appearances for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
