AFCON U20 AFCON : Uganda down Mozambique to top group A ahead of Cameroon

The young Cranes got the three points over Mozambique to complete the matchday 1 in group A of U20 AFCON with this 2-0 victory.

Both teams were compelled to make a good start after Cameroon’s win on Sunday.

But the Young Cranes appeared to be more dangerous offensively as they dominated the game.

However, they suffered before finding the opener which came in the second half (57) as Derrick Kakooza scored from the penalty spot.

He further assisted Steven Sserwadda in the 86th minutes and the latter sealed the win for the team of Morley Byekwaso.

Uganda are now on top of the group A with three points (+2) while Cameroon return to the second position with three points (+1).

Mauritania are third and Mozambique are bottom.
