Africa Soccer CAF LEAGUE : SUNDOWNS END MAZEMBE’S 12-YEAR UNBEATEN HOME RUN

Mputu et le TP Mazembe doivent gagner

Mamelodi Sundowns became the first team to beat TP Mazembe at home in 12 years after winning 2-1 the CAF Champions League group stage game played in Congo on Saturday afternoon.

The win in Lubumbashi saw the South African league champions, Sundowns, break the record that had stood since October 18 2009 when Mazembe last lost at home.

Mazembe had gone some 58 home games unscathed until Saturday when Namibian striker Peter Shalulile and midfielder Lyle Lakay scored for the South African champions.

Seasoned striker Tresor Mputu scored for Mazembe who are now winless in two Champions League games, having drawn 0-0 against Al Hilal in Sudan and 0-0 against CR Belouizdad of Algeria.

Sundowns lead the log table with nine points from three games whereas Mazembe have two points.
