For the second year in a row, African champions Al Ahly will start their CAF Champions League campaign with a trip to Niger, having faced AS SONIDEP last year.
And CAF have announced their permission for 7500 fans to attend the CAF Champions League opening game for title holders Al Ahly against Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale of Niger. The match will start this Saturday at 15:30 GMT.
Despite the importance of the game, Al Ahly will be playing without the newest summer signings (Percy Tau, Luís Miquissone, Karim Fouad, and Hossam Hassan).

Less than 24 hours before the game, Al Ahly manager of football Sayed Abdelhafiz said that CAF sent an official letter telling the Egyptian club that 7500 fans will be attending the game.
Abdelhafiz also talked about the importance of the game and how the Reds see their CAF Champions League start.
“We are hoping to achieve a good result tomorrow. It would be great to have a good start in our new journey.” Abdelhafiz said.
“The game won’t be easy as some people claim, it will take a lot of effort. And everyone needs to be fully focused.”
