Ethiopia have become arguably the first national football team to arrive in Cameroon.

The Ethiopians are among the teams that would participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

Ethiopia Football Federation website reports that the team started off for Cameroon on Saturday.

The team’s coach is Ethiopian Bebetu Abate.

Leader of delegation Abebe Gelagay handed over the Ethiopian flag from the Minister of Sport and Culture, Honorable Kejela Merdasa and Ethiopian Football Federation President Mr. Esayas Jira.

In addition to this, the federation gave commemorative gifts to its partners and the government before departure.

Ethiopia are in Group A comprising Burkina Faso, Cape Verde and the hosts.

The Ethiopians will open the showpiece by playing against the Indomitable Lions on January 9 2022.
