Nigeria NPFL Round-Up: Rivers maintain top spot as Enyimba suffer another defeat

The matchday 17 fixtures of the 2021-2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, played this weekend saw 16 goals scored in ten games.

Remo Stars stay in the third position with 29 points while Sunshine Stars slipped to 9th with 23 points.

Elsewhere, Abia Warriors were held to a goalless by defending champion Akwa United who continue their resurgence.

Plateau United kept the trail on Rivers United as they claimed a slim 1-0 win against Katsina United at the New Jos Stadium.

Kano Pillars responded positively to their last week 1-0 loss to Rivers United as they grabbed a 2-0 win against Nasarawa United at home.

Heartland fought their way out of the relegation zone following a 1-0 win against Niger Tornadoes.

Jonas Emmanuel 11th minute goal was all the Nazi Millionaires needed to move up to 15th place on the log.

Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers moved to 4th after a 1-0 win against visiting Gombe United at the Cathedral.
