Guinea midfielder Naby Keita is a major doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League second round game against Watford on Saturday due to match fitness concerns.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave an update on Keita’s availability for the match on Friday ahead of the must-win encounter.

“Yesterday Naby couldn’t train; felt a little bit here and there. I don’t know exactly yet, nobody called me yet about Naby for today. So we will see how he is for today. Apart from that, we had them pretty much all available,” Klopp told Liverpool website.

The midfielder’s injury ruled him out of international duty for Guinea, but Klopp said he thought the midfielder had recovered.

Yeah, but that was kind of OK. Then he trained once and then he felt [it] again, so we need to see. Not sure if he will be, or can be, involved tomorrow,” he said.

Klopp said defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was set to resume full training ahead of Liverpool’s encounter with Watford.

The left-back was ruled out of the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final win at Nottingham Forest due to a hamstring injury.

He also missed games, which England played in the international football window.

Now, he must help Liverpool close the gap with leaders Manchester City.
