Nigeria NWFL:Falode Delighted With Tulcan Energy Sponsorship Deal

Aisha Falode, the Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, expressed her excitement on Tuesday over Tulcan Energy Resources’ sponsorship of the 2021/2022 NWFL Premiership Super Six, which begins on May 16 in Benin City.

During the sponsorship unveiling ceremony yesterday at the Lagos Marriot Hotel, Ball Room 1, GRA, Ikeja, Falode, who is also a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s executive board, said:

The Tulcan Energy Resources sponsorship, is a huge relieve for the league and a sign of better things to come” adding, that:

“It’s a testament to the good works and consistency the league has demonstrated in the past.”

Falode stressed: “The NWFL had endured over the years without a sponsor and now we have a Super League sponsor in Tulcan Energy.

‘We are happy with the progress made after we struggled in the past years to pay Match Commissioners, referees and get the league running in the regular season.

“The NWFL Board use this opportunity to say a big thank you to the leadership of the NFF board and all those supporting us over the years.

“We are proud that eight of the Falcons’ regular team members at the last World Cup in France in 2019 came from the league.

“We thank Tulcan Energy for having faith in us.”

The unveiling ceremony was coordinated by Aisha Falode, Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, in the presence of Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Dolapo Akinwale, Head Strategy, Tulcan Energy Resources, Barrister Mrs. Peace Udoka Adeleke, and representatives of the league sponsors, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns.

Following the unveiling of the Super Six sponsors, Aisha Falode, the NWFL’s Chairperson, and Dolapo Akinwale, a representative of Tulcan Energy Resources, signed the sponsorship contract on the event’s floor, the Ball Room 1 of the Lagos Marriott Hotel, on 122, Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

On Tulcan Energy Resources’ sponsorship of the Super Six, Falode noted that the sponsorship is a testimonial to the league’s strong work and consistency in the past. Including:

The sponsorship is to create more impactful, competition & more meaningful development in the Women’s football league.”

Mr. Akinwale was accompanied by Aisha Falode to jointly reveal the Tulcan Energy Resources branded jersey for the six clubs, which include the Edo Queens, Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens, Delta Queens, Naija Ratels, and Nasarawa Amazons.

Following the unveiling ceremony, a representative from Tulcan Energy Resources revealed that the firm will fund the total prize money for the NWFL Premiership Super Six to the tune of N10 million. The winner received N5 million, second place received N3 million, and third place received N2 million.

Falode, the NWFL Chairperson, announced that the Nigeria Women Football League will pay each of the six clubs one million naira for wearing Tulcan Energy Resources branded jerseys in all Super Six matches in Benin City, Edo State, when the competition resumes on May 16 to 22.

Tulcan Energy Resources’ Head of Strategy stated that the corporation is willing to sign a long-term sponsorship partnership with the NWFL for the Super Six.

And the number of years will be reported to the Women’s League leadership, led by Aisha Falode, in the first instance, underlining that:

The company has supported different businesses and with the NWFL and Nigeria football, it took them six minutes to seal the deal.

Our strategy intentions are to grow women’s football league in Nigeria and these are the reasons we are sponsoring the NWFL Super Six.

“We are also planning to sustain this.”

The traditional home colours of the six clubs are included on each of the Tulcan Energy Resources branded jerseys made by Owu Sports Wears Limited.

Barrister (Mrs.) Peace Udoka Adeleke, a representative of the NWFL Premiership’s key sponsors, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns, also addressed during the NWFL Premiership Super Six Official Draws Ceremony and Press Conference at the Lagos Marriot Hotel.

She stated that the corporation is committed to providing entire support for the growth of women’s football in Nigeria through its sponsorship, which she stated will be long-term.

Onome Ebi, the captain of the Super Falcons, Monday Gift, the new NWFL Nationwide phenomenon, Harmony Achiefula, and Mr. Dolapo Akinwale, the head of strategy at Tulcan Energy Resources, were among those who chose the draws.
