Ivory Coast WAFU B U-17: Cote d’Ivoire Annihiliates Niger In Seven Thriller

yCote d’Ivoire overturned a goal deficit and thrashed Niger 6-1 in the second Group game of the WAFU B U-17 tournament in Cape Coast Stadium.

The Young Elephants having failed to secure a victory in their opening game avenged their loss against Benin Republic on Niger.

Niger drew the first blood just 12 minutes of play as they scored through Yanis Alisoufou.

Cote d’Ivoire leveled two minutes later through Jean Emmanuel N’goran and began to boss the game against their opponent.

Nambagui Sor gave the Young Elephants the lead in the 17th minute before Gballou Inza extended the lead in the 26th minute to make it 3-1.

It went from a no contest to practice for the Ivorian who added two goals making it 5-1 heading to the break with Yan Diamande scoring a brace.

Abdoulaye Doumbia completed the routing in the second half as the IIvorianspicked their first three points of the tournament.

The WAFU B U-17 will serve as a QA qualifier for next year’s U-17 AFCON with the two finalists of the tournament representing West Africa.

The Golden Eaglets have already booked a spot in the semifinals.
