Senegal centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has left Napoli on Wednesday afternoon heading to London in order to complete his move to Chelsea.

The 31-year old has one left on his current contract with Naples but made it clear he wants to leave the club this summer.

Koulibaly has a preference for FC Barcelone but the Spanish side unfortunately did not made an offer to land him while he rejected Naples’ last contract extension offer.

Now, the AFCON 2021 winner is expected to arrive in London in the comin hours to undergo medicals and to complete the last details before putting pen on paper.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Kalidou Koulibaly will sign a five-year contract with the Blues worth €40M and reunite with his countryman Edouard Mendy at the Stamford Bridge.

The former Rennes defender will earn a €10M annual salary at Chelsea according to reports.

Koulibaly will team up with Thiago Silva and replace Antonio Rüdiger in the heart of the Blues’ defence who are also trying to get Nathan Ake this summer.
