Liberians’ hopes of a potential comeback were dashed as effective midfielder Lungu ultimately scored herself 13 minutes after the restart to seal the victory.

Before AS FAR and Simba Queens play in the second game of the day, the decisive victory propels Buffaloes to the top of Group A.

As a result of her two assists and the Buffaloes’ fourth goal, Lungu, who finished with the most goals at the Cosafa qualifiers, was named Woman of the Match.

When the Zambian Army plays the hosts AS FAR on November 2 at Stade Moulay Hassan, they will be looking to build on their strong start and advance to the next round.

The Determine Girls, meantime, will look to improve upon their dismal start to the campaign when they take against the defending Tanzanian and CECAFA champions Simba Queens on the same field in their second match of the tournament.
