Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has reacted to Black Stars elimination from Qatar 2022 World Cup following their loss 0-2 to Uruguay on Group stage matchday 3.

Otto Addo’s men needed only a draw to secure their place for the round of 16 of the World Cup as they went into Uruguay game with 3 points.

However, Andre Ayew and teammates failed not only to keep their nets untouched, but also to score with the captain himself missing a penalty.

La Celeste scored two goals in the space of 6 minutes (26′ & 32) as Giorgian de Arrascaeta bagged a brace.

Ghana never came back in the game and bowed out with 1 win and 2 losses. But his one particularly hurt Asamoah Gyan.

“What makes me a bit upset is you can not loose a game like that. Just play and give everything and when you loose people will say you’ve done well. Look how we play against Portugal. You can’t loose a game like this”, Gyan said on SuperSport.

“I’m very very disappointed with the performance today.

“We lost against Portugal, but everybody was happy back home for the way we played.

“You have your destiny in your hands, need a draw to qualify but nothing shows we wanted to win the game.

“The Uruguayans proved. Instead of thinking how to win, we were thinking of a player [Luis Suarez] apologizing for everybody. It irritates me sometimes, but I’m also human, we are all supporting, but you can not loose a game like that.”
