Chelsea Chelsea Announces Chris Jurasek As Chief Executive

As Chelsea’s president of business Tom Glick prepares to depart the club after less than a year, the club announced on Tuesday that Chris Jurasek has been named as their next chief executive.

Chelsea hired Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager on Monday after a dismal 12th-place Premier League finish in Clearlake Capital’s first season as owners.

The London club is hoping to replicate the English and European triumphs they experienced under Roman Abramovich’s leadership at Stamford Bridge.

Alongside co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, Jurasek, an executive of American co-owner Todd Boehly’s Clearlake firm, will supervise all business operations at Chelsea and report to the board.

I’m delighted to be joining Chelsea, a club which is loved and followed all over the world,” Jurasek said in a statement.

“I’m enormously proud to be leading it into the next chapter in its rich history.

“We have huge opportunities to grow on and off the pitch and to engage our exceptional fans both in London and wherever they are supporting us from.”

The club’s co-controlling owners, Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano, said: “Chris’ experience and expertise will allow us to drive the club forward in all areas, especially in supporting our long-term goals for Chelsea.

Glick, a former executive with Manchester City, will depart after only been hired in July of last year.

The Guardian reported earlier this month that Chelsea had retained a law firm to determine if Glick acted properly when he informed a female agent her concerns to him regarding the conduct of a club executive were uninteresting and unrelated to his position.
