Tanzania Feisal Salum: Why I have problems with champions Yanga SC

Young Africans (Yanga SC) player Feisal Salum has outlined his conditions to have him return and play for the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old Salum has been at loggerheads with the club since the halfway stage of the current campaign and he at one time gave the club a demand letter to leave for greener pastures.

He has not featured for the side for the better part of the second period with reports linking him with a move to rivals Simba SC. Salum has now come out to reveal the reasons that prompted his desire to terminate his contract with the Timu ya Mwananchi.

“I have no problems with the club or its members and supporters though they are being forced to regard me as a bad person,” Salum said as quoted by Daily News, adding: “My main problem is with the president of the club [Hersi Said].”

Salum further said he can instantly return back only if the club’s president Hersi leaves Yanga and claimed even club sponsors Ghalib Salum Mohamed (GSM) also annoyed him for not picking up his calls.

On why he signed for Yanga while Simba were chasing his services, Salum said: “Simba were the first club that showed interest to sign me and offered a 25m/- signing fee but I accepted a 10m/- signing fee from Yanga.”

Yanga have already been crowned champions in Tanzania with two matches to spare, are in the final of the Azam FA Cup and also the final of the Caf Confederation Cup.

In the Caf competition, they are due to face USM Alger in the return leg on Saturday. The Algerian outfit have the advantage going into the fixture as they won 2-1 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
