Ligue 1 BREAKING : PSG sack Christophe Galtier

French Ligue 1 side PSG announced the sacking oh their coach Christophe Galtier pending Luis Enrique appointment.

The 56-year old joined Paris Saint-Germain only last year on a two-year contract.

However, he failed to qualify the Parisians into UEFA Champions league quarter-finals as they were knocked by Bayern Munich in last 16 round.

With Galtier, PSG also lost a lot of games in Ligue 1 and ended the season with only one point (85) ahead of second-based side RC Lens (84).

With the former OGC Nice coach vaing issues with France justice at the moment, both parties decided to part ways.

“At the end of 2022-2023 season, Paris Saint-Germain and Christophe Galtier have decided to end their first-team coaching contract”, the club statement reads.

“Everyone at Paris Saint-Germain thanks Christophe Galtier, as well as his assistants Thierry Oleksiak and João Sacramento, for the professionalism and commitment shown throughout the season, and wishes them the best for the rest of their careers.”

The club is expected to announce Luis Enrique as their new head coach soon.
