Friendly Bayern Munich hammer hapless Rottach-Egern 27-0!

Bayern Munich registered a 27-0 victory over a ninth-tier German side Rottach-Egern in a pre-season friendly at their Tegernsee training camp on Tuesday night.

It means the Bundesliga champions coached by Thomas Tuchel, scored on average a goal every three-and-a-half minutes as they roared to a huge victory in preparations for the new season. Tuchel wanted to give his first-team stars a proper run and the Bayern boss named a supremely strong starting team considering the occasion as the likes of Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Joshua Kimmich all featured.

In the fixture at the Sportplatz Birkenmoos, it took Musiala, who scored the crucial final goal of last season, just three minutes to open the scoring. Gnabry and then Davies took the tally to three inside eight minutes. Gnabry and Musiala brought up braces after 12 and 13 minutes respectively.

After a brief lull, Laimer opened his Bayern account on 20 minutes with a chip over the goalkeeper, who had earlier denied Tel. The Frenchman then got a four-minute brace before Mazraoui made it 9-0. Tel wrapped up his hat trick and took things into double digits just before the half-hour mark. The six-time European champions got their 11th thanks to a set piece as Upamecano powered home a header in 31 minutes. Tel’s fourth took Bayern past the 11 first-half goals they got when they last faced Rottach-Egern in 2019.

Sane got in on the act for the 13th and Musiala rounded off his hat-trick after 37 minutes for 14-0. Tel made it five for himself with a calm finish after Musiala dribbled his way through the Rottach-Egern ranks. The hero of 2022-23 attempted to keep pace with his fourth and FCB’s 16th on 42 minutes. Gnabry got his hat-trick shortly after before Musiala rounded out the half with a fifth for himself as Bayern went into the break 18-0 to the good.

Tuchel changed his entire team for the second half to the following: Schenk – Kabadayi, Stanisic, Sarr, Guerreiro – Goretzka, Gravenberch – Mane, Sabitzer, Coman – Choupo-Moting. The new XI took a little longer to get going but Marcel Sabitzer got the first goal of the second period after five minutes.

Cameroon international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made way for Paul Wanner in 56 minutes following a knock to his knee before Raphael Guerreiro hit the post and Sadio Mane only found the side netting. It wasn’t until the 64th minute that Sabitzer struck again to bring up 20 for the Bundesliga champions.

The Austrian, returning from a loan spell at Manchester United, completed his hat-trick with a tap-in moments later. The Sabitzer Show continued with a turn and dinked finish for his fourth on 71 minutes and then another close-range strike moments later. His fifth equalled the score of 23-0 in this game from 2019. Debutant Guerreiro then took them beyond that when he turned in at the far post.

Ryan Gravenberch brought up the quarter-century in the 84th minute with a curling effort from 20 yards. Kingsley Coman added a 26th with a low drive. After being denied on a number of occasions, Mane finally got his goal to round off the scoring in the 90th minute at 27-0.
