Galatasaray have confirmed the acquisition of the Democratic Republic of Congo forward Cedric Bakambu.
On their Twitter handle, Galatasaray announced that Bakambu, a former Villarreal and Olympiacos forward, had signed a two-year contract with the club. The 32-year-old, who arrived from Emirati club Al-Nasr, will earn €1.5 million ($1.6 million) per season, Galatasaray confirmed.
On being unveiled, Bakambu said: “I am very happy to be here. The last weeks have been difficult for me, but now I’m in Turkey’s biggest club, Galatasaray. It was a dream to come to Turkey again and play. I was playing here 7-8 years ago. Now I’m back in the league again. I’m going to do my job on the field in my new jersey.
