CAF Champions League CAFCL: Medeama SC To Host Remo Stars In Cape Coast Stadium

Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC has adopted the Cape Coast Stadium as their home for next season CAF Champions League.

Medeama will now host Remo Stars
In the opening round of the CAF Champions League at their Cape Coast Stadium.

The Yellow and Mauves was given until Monday, July 31, 2023 to submit their chosen location and kickoff time for their maiden encounter in the continent’s Inter-club championships.

After choosing the Cape Coast Stadium, Medeama SC will host Remo Stars on August 20, 2023, before going to Nigeria for the return leg.

When Medeama last competed in CAF inter-club competitions, they advanced to the group stages by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns, a South African powerhouse, in a playoff.

In the second preliminary round, the winner of this matchup will play Guinean powerhouse Horoya AC, and the victor advances to the group round.

On Friday, August 4, 2023, the Tarkwa-based club will play host to ASKO de Kara of Togo in an international friendly at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The game against Remo Stars, which starts next month, is said to be part of the club’s CAF Champions League campaign preparations.

In advance of the league season in 2023–2024, it will also act as the team’s preseason training.
