CHAN CAF Unveils Nigeria In WAFU B Zone For 2024 CHAN Qualifiers

A list of the nations that will compete in the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers has been officially announced by the African football governing body.

Nigeria, along with six other nations, was classified in the WAFU B Zone when the nations were announced according to their regions.

Egypt is one significant nation that has decided not to compete after pulling out, and Tunisia is returning to the competition.

According to CAF, eight countries will compete in the WAFU A zone, seven in WAFU B, seven in UNIFFAC, eleven in COSAFA, nine in CECAFA, and finally four in the UNAF area.

On September 22 and 24, 2023, the first-round first-leg matches will take place, and on October 6 and 8, the second legs will follow.

The first leg of the second round will be held on December 15 and 17, while the return leg will be held on December 22 and 24.

Finally, March 8 and 10, 2024 (for the outbound leg) and March 15 and 17, 2024 (for the return leg) have been selected as the dates for the third and final round.

Nigeria has missed the last two CHAN finals by not being eligible to compete.
