Delta Queens, the defending champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, defeated Sam Nelly of the Benin Republic 2-0 today at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

Before Ifeoma Ifitezue scored the game-winning goal in the second half, Owoeye Temitope gave the game its early lead in the 34th minute.

The outcome gave Delta Queens the group lead with 6 points as they scored 5 goals and allowed none.
