The men’s 4X100 relay team from Team Nigeria’s hopes of winning a medal at the current World Athletics Championship in Budapest are all but vanished.

The Nigerian team ultimately succeeded in qualifying for the competition in Hungary after considerable work.

The country was represented by the four of Favour Ashe, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Alaba Akintola, and Seye Ogunlewe in the semi-final competition held on Friday, but it was never meant to be as they fell short.

With a timing of 38.20 seconds, they accomplished fantastic performances of personal bests and came in fifth place.

As a result, Brazil selected the final qualification spot at Team Nigeria’s expense.
