Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Miguel Gamondi and the team’s playmaker Maxi Nzengeli have won the coach and player of the month (August) awards respectively.
According to a signed statement by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), Gamondi outclassed two other coaches Roberto Oliveira of rivals Simba SC and Hemed Morocco of Geita Gold to the first gong of the Tanzanian Premier League.

During the matches played in August, Yanga under the tutelage of Gamondi stamped a 5-0 win over KMC before replicating the same results against JKT Tanzania. For Nzengeli, who scored two goals plus providing one assist, the information states that he managed to beat two finalists of the category who are Stephanie Aziz Ki (Yanga) and Jean Baleke (Simba).
Also, the best manager award for August was clinched by Manungu Complex Manager Godfrey Komba.
