Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has won his second straight Saudi Pro League Player of the Month award for his contributions in September.
Ronaldo’s side had a disappointing start to the campaign and lost their opening two games to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq and Al-Taawoun. However, the Riyadh giants went on a six-game winning streak to close the gap on leaders Al-Hilal to just two points at the top of the Saudi Pro League table.
Their turnaround in form was led by summer-arrival Sadio Mane, Anderson Talisca, and Ronaldo who helped Al-Nassr score an incredible tally of 23 goals with the latter leading the scoring charts. The Portuguese recently hit double figures in the league as his late penalty helped Al-Nassr earn a vital 2-1 win over rivals Al-Tai.

His standout performance during September came in Al-Nassr’s 4-3 win over Roberto Firmino’s Al-Ahli with the 38-year-old netting a brace past former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. Al-Nassr will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run as their title charge resumes when they host Abha in the league’s ninth round on Friday, October 6.
