Kenya Ulinzi Stars going for FKF title after Shabana demolition – Kimani

Ulinzi Stars head coach Anthony Kimani has maintained they are in the race to win the FKF Premier League title following their 4-0 victory against Shabana FC at Ulinzi Complex Stadium on Sunday.

The Soldiers resounding victory saw them jump to the 10th spot on the log with 10 points and coach Kimani was delighted to have registered his third win of the campaign and further maintained their target to win the title at the end of the season.

“Just like all the 18 teams in the league, I am sure every team wants to win the title and Ulinzi are not an exception, we have a very good team, a blend of young and experienced players, who have very high qualities and our job is to make them believe that they are more than capable of delivering it (title),” said Kimani.

He added: “I like to take it a game at a time, this was a very tough game against a very formidable opponent, the scoreline might be deceiving but Shabana is a very good team, they had a very match only that they were not able to utilise their chances.”

KCB bounced back from their frustrating 1-1 draw against Ulinzi to smash Nairobi City Stars 4-1 and move to third position with 15 points while Kariobangi Sharks needed a second-half goal courtesy of Julius Masaba in the stoppages to defeat Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0.

“It was the kind of response I was looking for from my boys, they did well in both halves, scoring two in the first and two in the second period was a great way to win the match,” said the Bankers’ coach Bernard Mwalala.

Posta Rangers, who returned to winning ways after thrashing Bandari 2-0, are topping the table with 19 points from eight matches, three more than second-placed and champions K’Ogalo, who battled to a 0-0 draw against Bidco United.
