I got food poisoning, today I’m a bit weak, but I should be ok,” he assured.

The coaching staff hopes that this news will just be a short-term setback.

The Eagles lost Victor Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi, Umar Sadiq, and Wilfred Ndidi to injuries before the game had started.

After recuperating from an injury, Leicester forward Kelechi Iheanacho joined the Eagles camp on Sunday.

Alhassan Yusuf, a midfielder, was stretchered off during the match against Equatorial Guinea, and he is not sure if he will be fit for the match against the Ivorians.

The Eagles must perform admirably against Côte d’Ivoire after the poor draw with Equatorial Guinea.

The hosts’ 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau gave their campaign the ideal start.
