Tanzania Simba SC propose Amaan Stadium as home ground

Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has revealed that it is currently reviewing Simba SC’s request to use Zanzibar’s New Amaan Complex as their home ground for league and international matches.

This request comes after the government suspended the use of the Benjamin Mkapa and Uhuru Stadia, both located in Dar es Salaam, due to ongoing renovations.

As a result, Simba and other clubs that use the two stadia as their home grounds are looking for alternative venues. The board’s Chief Executive Officer, Almasi Kasongo, confirmed they had received an official letter from Simba requesting to use the Isles venue.

“We have indeed received the letter and we are working on It. Usually, regulations are interpreted together and there is a part of it that does give room for the TPBL and the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) to provide a decision,” said Kasongo.

“For those who argue that the regulation does not support that, their ideas are based on that…while at the same time, the regulation gives mandate to us to make decisions.”
