Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, believes he is prepared for the team’s semi-final matchup with the South African Bafana Bafana.
Many Bafana Bafana players are familiar with Nwabali, who plays for the South African club Chippa United.
According to the shot stopper, playing the Bafana Bafana will hold special meaning for him.
“I know them and they know me. It will be an interesting evening in Bouake,” he was quoted by thenff.com.
The match on Wednesday will mark the 15th time that the two nations have faced off on a full international level.
In five games against Cote d’Ivoire, Nwabali has given up just once.
Of the previous 14 matches, Nigeria has won seven, with two being won by South Africa and five being drawn.
