The Zambian Football Federation announced this Wednesday on the death of its striker Norin Betani during a rally.

The 24-year-old player arrived ill at the Zambian national team training camp, before being urgently hospitalized for “suspected malaria”.

The Zambian Football Federation informed this Wednesday of the death of its striker Norin Betani during a rally. The 24-year-old, who played for Indeni Roses Football Club, was part of the squad selected for the next two qualifying matches for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games against Ghana.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is saddened by the death of Copper Queens and Indeni Roses striker Norin Betani. Betani died Wednesday morning at the University Teaching Hospital after being diagnosed with suspected malaria,” the federation communicated on its Facebook account.
