Ghanaian Players abroad Ayew Inspires Palace To Victory Against 10-Man Burnley

Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew scored and provided an assist as Crystal Palace gave new manager Oliver Glasner a dream start with a 3-0 win over 10-man Burnley on Saturday.

The victory eased the Eagles Premier League relegation worries as they moved up to 14th position on the table, eight clear of the relegation zone.

Glasner took over from Roy Hodgson who stepped down as Palace Manager due to illness.

In their debut game under Glasner, the home team scored all three goals in an 11-minute span in the second half after an evenly balanced first half controlled by Palace, during which time Burnley was reduced to 10 men.

With a header off of a cross by Jordan Ayew, Chris Richards ended the scoreless draw in the 68th minute, Ayew doubled the lead after three minutes of play before Jean Mateta sealed the victory in the 79th minute with a penalty kick,

With the same starting lineup that drew 1-1 at Everton on Monday, Glasner led his first match since taking over for Roy Hodgson earlier this week.

David Datro Fofana headed home late in the game, giving Burnley fans hope that they had come back, but following a protracted VAR review, the goal was ruled offside, sparking wild jubilation from the home crowd.
